AbstractMany agents and techniques are available for analgesia and anesthesia in obstetric patients. The choice of technique, agent, and dosage is based on numerous factors, including patient preference, medical status, and contraindications. Decisions regarding anesthesia should be closely coordinated among the obstetrician, the anesthesiologist, the patient, and skilled support personnel.
