    AbstractThe laryngeal mask is a new airway system for use under anaesthesia which assumes a position between the face mask and the endotracheal tube. Employment of this system achieves several of the advantages of intubation while the disadvantages are avoided. The possibilities which this system offers in cases of difficult intubation are particularly interesting, especially in unexpected.
