AbstractIntravascular ultrasonography (IVUS) has been widely used in percutaneous coronary artery interventions to ensure optimal stent expansion. Entrapment of the IVUS catheter is potentially lethal. We report a case of successful emergent surgical removal of an entrapped catheter within the sirolimus-eluting stent and coronary revascularization.
