AbstractHeart failure (HF) is defined as an inability of the heart to supply sufficient blood flow to meet demand of the body. HF is characterized by an activation of various neurohumoral factors including the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). Thus, medical treatments mainly consist of the blockade of the RAAS and/or SNS. In this chapter, the role of the RAAS inhibitors is discussed for the treatment of patients with HF.
