    AbstractThis article is about the latest developments in lung cancer treatment, whether it is intended to cure, extend survival or enhance quality of life. The assessment of symptoms is considered, and focuses on breathlessness, which is one of the most common and distressing disorders associated with the disease. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches are outlines to assist nurses in meeting patients' needs and helping them to take control of their illness.
