AbstractInitiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation or termination of a resuscitation attempt may be challenging. We report a case with a 41-year-old man who was successfully resuscitated without significant neurological deficits despite more than 45 minutes of cardiac arrest with shockable cardiac rhythms. This case demonstrates that treatment should continue as long as shockable cardiac rhythms persist.
