Results revealed that majorityof patients (53.84%) (14/26) belonged in the 19¬29 years of age, mostly males (88.46%)(23/26), single (80.77%) (21/26), and mostly unemployed (73.08%) (19/26). All patients included were diagnosed with active TB disease (100%) (26/26). Most were classified under category I (69%) (18/26), category II (15%) (4/26) and category III (12%) (3/26) and (4%) (1/26) was referred to PMDT as MDRTB suspect. (92%) (24/26) were started on anti TB treatment, (4%) (1/26) continued anti kochs medications and (4%) (1/26) was referred to PMDT as MDRTB suspect.ConclusionsThe incidence of patients with PTB and HIV is on the rise and has a great impact on our society.Clinical ImplicationsIncreased awareness of this co infection (PTB with HIV) could help in better management of these diseases in the future. This research paper could serve as baseline data for similar studies in the future.DisclosureThe following authors have nothing to disclose: Ellen Balinas, Fel angelie ColonNo Product/Research Disclosure Information.
