AbstractConfronted with a persistently elevated activated partial thromboplastin time due to circulating lupus anticoagulant in a patient undergoing emergency off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery, the dilemma of providing adequate anticoagulation for a short cardiac surgical procedure is highlighted.
