    AbstractThe rate of cesarean deliveries by maternal request (CDMRs) is rising in the U.S. This article explains why women choose this type of delivery, notes the risks of CDMR for the infant, and suggests ways neonatal nurses can minimize the risks for well infants, as well as for those who must be admitted to the NICU.
