AbstractWe report a case of prostatic cancer in which transformation from adenocarcinoma into small cell carcinoma was demonstrated both by histology and immunohistochemistry. This phenomenon supports the hypothesis that small cell carcinoma of the prostate originates from multipotential prostatic epithelial cells.
