AbstractIschemic spinal cord damage from cardiac arrest is rare. A 48-year-old man underwent a straightforward retroperitoneal aortofemoral bypass operation. The following day, he developed cardiac arrest and was resuscitated successfully, but permanent paraplegia was observed soon afterwards.
