AbstractA case of sudden loss of fresh gas delivery to a manual auxiliary anaesthetic circuit is reported. The corresponding fresh gas outlet was disunited from the anaesthesia machine and had been inadvertently rotated in its housing, allowing the rubber tubing linking the fresh gas delivery unit to the gas outlet to be twisted.
