AbstractThe judicious use of regional anesthesia in the intensive care unit should improve patient comfort. Techniques covered include intercostal nerve blocks, interpleural blocks, paravertebral blocks, brachial plexus blocks, and femoral nerve blocks. Rational patient selection for each technique mentioned is also discussed.
