Analysis of the proportion of university teaching hospital gastric cancer data included in the Zambia national cancer registry.
The exact prevalence of gastric cancer in Zambia is unknown. Case ReportsTakayasu arteritis, an atypical presentation as chronic kidney disease.
Takayasu arteritis, also known as "pulseless disease" usually affects major vessels like aorta and its branches, pulmonary arteries, and renal arteries. Hypertension is the common presentation. Chronic kidney disease involvement is less common. ⋯ We discuss a case of a young female who presented with accelerated hypertension with chronic kidney disease with preserved peripheral pulses. The diagnosis was confirmed by Computed tomography aortic angiogram, which showed diffuse circumferential thickening, multifocal ectasia, and aneurysmal dilatation with few saccular outpouchings of the aortic arch, descending thoracic and abdominal aorta (Type V). The patient was treated with steroids, antihypertensives, antiplatelet, and hemodialysis.

Case ReportsClopidogrel-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura: a case report.

We report a case of TTP in a Nigerian chronic kidney disease (CKD) patient who was previously on clopidogrel. ⋯ Clopidogrel is a cardio-protective anti-platelet drug used in CKD patients at risk of dyspepsia. However, its potential to cause TTP should be recognized and considered in acute kidney injury (AKI) patients previously on clopidogrel.
