Comparative StudyComparison of retrograde intramedullary nailing and bridge plating in the treatment of extra-articular fractures of the distal femur.
The aim of this study was to compare retrograde intramedullary nailing (RIMN) and bridge plating for the treatment of extra-articular distal femur fractures. ⋯ Bridge plating and RIMN have similar results in the treatment of extra-articular distal femur fractures. Both methods can be applied to all fractures, with the exception of Gustilo-Anderson Type 3B and C open fractures.

Comparative StudyMiddle-term therapeutic effect of the sacroiliac joint blockade in patients with lumbosacral fusion-related sacroiliac pain.
The aim of this study was to compare the therapeutic effect of sacroiliac (SI) blockade in patients with and without lumbosacral fusion. ⋯ Sacroiliac blockade has a similar therapeutic effect on patients who underwent lumbosacral fusion surgery as on non-operated patients in the middle-term. Therefore, alternative treatment options are not necessary in patients with fusion.

Comparative StudyEffects of two different solutions used in pin site care on the development of infection.
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of two different solutions used for pin site care in patients with external fixators on the incidence of pin site infection. ⋯ Use of 2 mg/ml chlorhexidine in pin site care appears to decrease the prevalence of pin tract infection.

Humeral surface anatomy and percutaneous plate advancement: a cadaveric study.
The aim of this study was to identify the anatomical obstacles on the humeral surface which can complicate subcutaneous plate advancement during surgical treatment of humeral fractures. ⋯ The deltoid insertion and proximal attachment of the brachialis muscles were identified as mechanical obstacles when performing the percutaneous plating. These sites caused difficulties with the procedure during the retrograde plate advancement through submuscular tunnel on the anterior surface of humerus. It was also noted that for successful plate advancement, it was necessary to release the anterior part of the deltoid insertion.

Effects of enoxaparin and rivaroxaban on tissue survival in skin degloving injury: an experimental study.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the antithrombotic agents enoxaparin and rivaroxaban on tissue survival following skin degloving injury in an experimental rat tail model. ⋯ Rivaroxaban and enoxaparin improved tissue survival in skin degloving injuries in terms of gross morphological and histopathological findings in a rat tail model.
