Addressing General Surgery Residents' Concerns in the Early Phase of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The purpose of this study was to determine the concerns of General Surgery residents as they prepare to be in the frontlines of the response against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19_). ⋯ General Surgery residents are fully dedicated to taking care of patients with COVID-19 infection despite the risk of personal or familial harm. Surgery departments should protect the physical and psychosocial wellbeing of General Surgery residents in order to increase their ability to provide care in the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Does Perceived Resident Operative Autonomy Impact Patient Outcomes?
We investigated the association of perceived trainee autonomy with patient clinical outcomes following colorectal surgery. ⋯ There was an association between increased perceived trainee autonomy and improved patient outcomes, suggesting that when trainees identify with an increased role in the operation, patients may have improved care. Further research is needed to understand this association further.

Data Driven Competitive Motivation Strategies in a Longitudinal Simulation Curriculum for Trauma Team Training.
A novel approach to trauma team simulation was used to enhance team performance in a cohort of general surgical residents. We implemented data driven debriefing using performance report cards and video footage of the simulations. We wanted to evaluate the technical and nontechnical skills developed by teams using this approach. ⋯ Adding data driven debriefing using performance report cards that assess both technical and CRM skills to a trauma team curriculum is a feasible and acceptable way to influence trainee performance using positive competitive motivation. More data are required to confirm the early patterns of improvement uncovered in CRM scoring. A positive correlation between technical skills and CRM skills raises important questions for future research.

Evaluation of Urology Residency Training and Perceived Resident Abilities in the United States.
To identify differences and potential deficiencies in urology residency training programs in the United States as they are perceived by residents/recent graduates and program directors. ⋯ Program directors and residents have differing perceptions regarding the education and resources associated with US urology residency training programs. US graduates of urology residency programs express a perceived lack of confidence in several procedures that are commonly encountered in a general urologic practice.

Educational Value of Surgical Multidisciplinary Team Meetings for Learning Non-Technical Skills - A Pilot Survey of Trainees From Two UK Deaneries.
This prospective survey study aimed to identify trainee surgeons' views on the educational potential of multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings for learning non-technical skills and relevant issues around using MDT meetings as an educational instrument. ⋯ Results indicate consistently positive views from trainees about the educational value of MDT meeting in general and for non-technical skills. Trainee participation, in the form of case-preparation, presentation, and discussion are recommended by respondents.
