Anticoagulation use for portal vein thrombosis (PVT) in patients with advanced liver disease is controversial. We investigated the effect of anticoagulation on outcomes in patients with PVT with cirrhosis. ⋯ Our analysis found that anticoagulation use is safe and associated with better outcomes in patients with PVT with advanced liver disease.

We conducted a retrospective observational study using Taiwanese insurance records to examine the association between beta blocker (BB)/ ivabradine (IVA) and cardiovascular (CV) outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). ⋯ Concerning adverse clinical events, IVA might not be appropriate for patients with AF.
