Lateral epicondylitis is a common overuse injury affecting approximately 1 to 3 percent of the population. Meta AnalysisIs There a Preferred Incision Location for Nipple-Sparing Mastectomy? A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
The incidence of nipple-sparing mastectomy is rising, but no single incision type has been proven to be superior. This study systematically evaluated the rate and efficacy of various nipple-sparing mastectomy incision locations, focusing on nipple-areola complex necrosis and reconstructive method. ⋯ For nipple-sparing mastectomy, the periareolar incision maintains the highest necrosis rate because of disruption of the nipple-areola complex blood supply. The inframammary fold incision has become the most popular incision, demonstrating an acceptable complication profile.

Meta AnalysisPatient-Reported Outcome Measures for Soft-Tissue Facial Reconstruction: A Systematic Review and Evaluation of the Quality of Their Measurement Properties.
A patient's health-related quality of life can be significantly impacted by facial scarring and disfigurement. Facial soft-tissue reconstruction should aim to improve this, with outcomes measured from the patient's perspective using patient-reported outcome measures. This systematic review identifies patient-reported outcome measures for soft-tissue facial reconstruction and appraises their methodologic and psychometric properties using up-to-date methods. ⋯ This is the first systematic review to identify and critically appraise patient-reported outcome measures for soft-tissue facial reconstruction using internationally accepted criteria. Four questionnaires were deemed to have adequate levels of methodologic and psychometric evidence, although further studies should be conducted before they are used routinely in patients undergoing facial reconstruction. Through the use of psychometrically well-validated questionnaires, it is hoped that patients' concerns can be truly appreciated, the level of care improved, and the quality of reconstructive options offered advanced.

Review Meta AnalysisLooking at plastic surgery through Google Glass: part 1. Systematic review of Google Glass evidence and the first plastic surgical procedures.
Google Glass has the potential to become a ubiquitous and translational technological tool within clinical plastic surgery. Google Glass allows clinicians to remotely view patient notes, laboratory results, and imaging; training can be augmented via streamed expert master classes; and patient safety can be improved by remote advice from a senior colleague. This systematic review identified and appraised every Google Glass publication relevant to plastic surgery and describes the first plastic surgical procedures recorded using Google Glass. ⋯ Google Glass is an exciting translational technology with the potential to positively impact health care delivery, medical documentation, surgical training, and patient safety. Further high-quality scientific research is required to formally appraise Google Glass in the clinical setting.
