ReviewEmergency department overcrowding : Analysis and strategies to manage an international phenomenon.
Overcrowding in emergency departments is a common and worldwide phenomenon, which is widely reported even in the lay press. Strategies to address this incriminating situation for patients, nurses, physicians and hospital administrators are urgently needed. The current review presents an analysis of the overcrowding problem as well as strategies to answer overcrowding situations.

Assessing the health-related quality of life in type 2 diabetes patients treated with insulin and oral antidiabetic agents.
Assessing the quality of life (QOL) for patients with type 2 diabetes is an essential part of diabetes management, especially for the evaluation of new antidiabetic treatments and glucose monitoring technologies. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to assess QOL according to treatment types. ⋯ This study showed no QOL distinctions between treatment groups in patients with type 2 diabetes; however, a large cohort study is needed to examine these groups further.
