Seasonality of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo : A retrospective study from Central Europe.
Although benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the most common cause of vertigo in clinical practice, factors influencing the pathophysiology remain not fully understood. ⋯ Our results show a seasonal accumulation of BPPV during winter and springtime, which is in line with previous studies from other climatic zones, suggesting an association of this seasonality with varying vitamin D levels.

Case ReportsNeuronal intranuclear inclusion disease with cortical involvement in left hemisphere: a case report.
Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) is a rare highly heterogeneous disease. In this paper, we present a case of NIID featured in cortical involvement in left hemisphere of brain and the imaging changes in the process of the disease. ⋯ Except for typical radiological change strongly suggesting NIID, it is also necessary to notice the insidious symptoms of NIID combining with some atypical imaging features to make an early diagnosis. Skin biopsies or genetic testing should be carried out early in patients with highly suspected NIID.

Subclinical atherosclerosis in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.
Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory disorder of the central nervous system. Inflammation may create high susceptibility to subclinical atherosclerosis. The purpose of this study was to compare subclinical atherosclerosis and the role of inflammatory cytokines between the group of patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) and healthy controls matched for age and sex. ⋯ The findings of the present study suggest that when treated with DMD RRMS might not be an independent risk factor for early atherosclerosis presenting with arterial wall thickening; however, the results suggest a significant association of IL‑6 serum levels with CCA IMT only in the RRMS group.

Sex differences in vision and hearing impairments across age and European regions : Findings from SHARE.
Although sensory impairments are common conditions among older people, research often fails to consider the role of sex. We examined sex differences in vision impairment and hearing impairment across age and European regions. ⋯ Our findings demonstrate an overall consistent pattern of sex differences in sensory impairments across Europe showing an increasing female disadvantage in vision and a decreasing female advantage in hearing with advancing age.
