ReviewCIMT as a risk factor for Stroke Subtype: A Systematic Review.
An increase in the common carotid artery intima-media thickness (CCA-IMT) is generally considered an early marker of atherosclerosis and is a well-established predictor of cardiovascular disease (CVD). An association between changes in CCA-IMT and risk of stroke has been reported but has conflicting findings. ⋯ Carotid intima thickness measurements are found to be associated with the risk of stroke along with its subtypes and may be used as a diagnostic marker for predicting the risk of stroke events.

Meta AnalysisShort-term anticoagulation after acute cardioversion of early-onset atrial fibrillation.
Controversy exists regarding anticoagulation management following acute cardioversion in patients with early-onset (<48 hours) atrial fibrillation without class I guideline indication for long-term oral anticoagulation (CHA2DS2-VASc 0-1). ⋯ Given these data, considering the bleeding risk unavoidably conferred by OAT, which is known to be higher in the first month from treatment onset, short-term anticoagulation limited to 4 weeks post-cardioversion of early-onset (<48 hours) atrial fibrillation in patients with low-moderate risk of stroke (CHA2DS2-VASc 0-1) may be omitted, at least in patients with high-bleeding risk.

Randomized Controlled TrialNon-specific analgesia during a clinical trial in fibromyalgia.
When patients suffering from fibromyalgia undergo a therapeutic trial, a non-negligible part of analgesia is not explained by the drug itself. The mechanisms of this non-specific effect need to be understood. ⋯ The changes observed concomitantly to non-specific pain analgesia might be related to mild changes in brain functioning, based on convergent literature data.

ReviewInvestigating the Capabilities of Information Technologies to support Policymaking in COVID-19 Crisis Management; A Systematic Review and Expert opinions.
Today, numerous countries are fighting to protect themselves against the Covid-19 crisis, while the policymakers are confounded and empty handed in dealing with this chaotic circumstance. The infection and its impacts have made it difficult to make optimal and suitable decisions. New information technologies play significant roles in such critical situations to address and relieve stress during the coronavirus crisis. This article endeavours to recognize the challenges policymakers have typically experienced during pandemic diseases, including Covid-19, and, accordingly, new information technology capabilities to encounter with them. ⋯ The results illustrate that the challenges fall into two categories including; encountering the disease and reducing the results of the disease. Furthermore, Internet of things, cloud computing, machine learning and social networking play the most significant roles to address these challenges.
