A simple score to predict early death after kidney transplantation.
Few studies have focused on risk stratification for premature death after transplantation. However, stratification of individual risk is an essential step in personalized care. ⋯ The ORLY score discriminates patients with high risk of early death.

Non-vitamin K vs vitamin K oral anticoagulants in patients aged > 80 year with atrial fibrillation and low body weight.
Octogenarian patients are at high risk of both ischaemic and bleeding events, and the low body weight is considered a risk factor for major bleeding in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients on anticoagulation therapy. The aim of our study was to compare the safety and effectiveness of NOACs versus well-controlled VKA therapy among patients aged > 80 year with AF and low body weight in real-life setting. ⋯ Our real-world data might suggest the safe and efficacy use of NOACs in this setting of population, justified by a reduction in overall mortality over VKAs. Further studies are needed to confirm these data.

Impact of adrenomedullin levels on clinical risk stratification and outcome in subarachnoid hemorrhage.
To use classification tree analysis to identify risk factors for nonsurvival in a neurological patients with subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) and to propose a clinical model for predicting of mortality. ⋯ The study established a model (APACHE II, MR-proADM and Hunt&Hess) to predict fatal outcomes in patients with SAH. The proposed decision-making algorithm may help identify patients with a high risk of mortality.
