Observational Study
Risk factors for axillary lymph node metastases in clinical stage T1-2N0M0 breast cancer patients.
Axillary lymph node metastasis (ALNM) is commonly the earliest detectable clinical manifestation of breast cancer when distant metastasis emerges. This study aimed to explore the influencing factors of ALNM and develop models that can predict its occurrence preoperatively. Cases of sonographically visible clinical stage T1-2N0M0 breast cancers treated with breast and axillary surgery at West China Hospital were retrospectively reviewed. ⋯ By using the error-cost matrix algorithm, the FNR significantly decreased to 14.75%, particularly for nodes 5, 8, and 13 (FNR: 11.4%, 9.09%, and 14.29% in the training set and 18.1%,14.71%, and 20% in the test set, respectively). In summary, our study demonstrated that tumor lesion boundary, tumor size, and tumor quadrant locations were the most important factors affecting ALNM in cT1-2N0M0 stage breast cancer. The decision tree built using these variables reached a slightly higher FNR than sentinel lymph node dissection in predicting ALNM in some selected patients.

Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) separation technology has been widely used in various clinical therapies, and has achieved good results, especially in aortic surgeries. ⋯ PRP separation technology combined with blood salvage and warming of blood and fluid transfusion in the aortic surgery has been proved to be feasible and beneficial.

To investigate the feasibility, efficacy, and safety of laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal (TEP) repair in patients with inguinal hernia accompanied by liver cirrhosis. Between October 2015 and May 2018, 17 patients with liver cirrhosis who underwent TEP repair were included in this study. The baseline characteristics, perioperative data, and recurrence were retrospectively reviewed. ⋯ During a follow-up of 19.29 ± 9.01 months, no patients had recurrence and chronic pain, but 2 patients died because of the progression of underlying liver disease. Early and elective inguinal hernia repair is feasible and effective for patients with liver cirrhosis. TEP is a feasible and safe repair option for cirrhotic patients in experienced hands.

Observational Study
An investigation of lower urinary tract symptoms and its potential associated factors in adult Chinese women with zero-inflated negative binomial regression model.
Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) have detrimental impact on health-related quality of life. This study has 2 aims: first to identify the optimum model for LUTS study and then to explore the potential associated factors of LUTS and bother LUTS with the optimum model among adult women in China. The survey was conducted in 6 regions of China between February and July 2006. ⋯ ZINB model was the optimum model to explore the potential associated factors of LUTS. Older age, coexisting POP and constipation were both closely related to any and bother LUTS, also the severity of LUTS. Compared to nulliparity, single or multiple deliveries and women who had perineal laceration had nothing to do with the severity of LUTS.

Association between the IL-10 rs1800872 polymorphisms and periodontitis susceptibility: A meta-analysis.
Periodontitis is a common disease with an unclear pathological mechanism. No precise consensus has been reached to evaluate the association between the IL-10 rs1800872 (- 592, -590, -597 C>A) polymorphism and periodontal disease. Thus, we performed this meta-analysis to collect more evidence-based information. ⋯ The results of our meta-analysis demonstrate that rs1800872 is associated with periodontitis susceptibility in Caucasians and Asians. Moreover, A allele, AA genotype, CC genotype may be closely associated with chronic periodontitis (CP), while A allele, AA genotype may be closely associated with aggressive periodontitis (AgP).
