Review Meta Analysis
Pharmacologic interventions for postoperative nausea and vomiting after thyroidectomy: A protocol for systematic review and network meta-analysis.
We aimed to perform a network meta-analysis (NMA) to quantify and rank the efficacy and safety of the pharmacologic interventions for prophylactic use for postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in patients undergoing thyroidectomies. ⋯ This systematic review and NMA will provide a comprehensive and convincing evidence summary of prophylactic pharmacologic interventions for PONV after a thyroidectomy.

Primary dysmenorrhea is a condition characterized by painful menstrual cramps that usually occurs in the absence of any identifiable pathological condition among menstruating women, with the prevalence estimates varying between 45% and 95%. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are considered as a standard treatment for primary dysmenorrhea; however, the failure rate of NSAIDs is often 20% to 25% and these drugs commonly cause adverse effects. In this review, we investigated the current evidence related to the effectiveness of Xuefu Zhuyu decoction (XZD) or Hyeolbuchukeo-tang, a traditional herbal formula, as a treatment for primary dysmenorrhea. ⋯ The existing trials showed a favorable effect of XZD for the management of primary dysmenorrhea. However, the efficacy of XZD on primary dysmenorrhea is not conclusive owing to the small number of studies and the high risk of bias. Large-scale, long-term RCTs with rigorous methodological input are needed to clarify the role of XZD for the management of primary dysmenorrhea.

Review Meta Analysis
Prevalence of human papillomavirus type-18 in head and neck cancer among the Chinese population: A PRISMA-compliant meta-analysis.
China has a high burden of head and neck cancer globally and oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) has been hypothesized as a risk factor for head and neck cancer, but research was absent for establishing HPV prevalence in China. We aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to estimate the high-risk HPV-18 prevalence of head and neck cancer in the Chinese population. ⋯ High prevalence of HPV-18 was found in the samples of Chinese head and neck cancers. Prophylactic HPV-vaccination may reduce the burden of HPV-related head and neck cancer in China.

Meta Analysis
Herbal medicine (Zhengan Xifeng Decoction) for essential hypertension protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Essential hypertension is one of the most common chronic diseases worldwide, as well as a leading risk factor for cardiocerebrovascular diseases. Zhengan Xifeng Decoction (ZGXFD) has been widely used to treat essential hypertension, but there is no systematic review by assessing efficacy and safety of ZGXFD on essential hypertension. Therefore, we aim to perform systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ZGXFD in the treatment of essential hypertension. ⋯ This systematic review will determine whether or not ZGXFD is an effective intervention for essential hypertension.
