Despite rapid reports on the correlation between body mass index (BMI) and periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) after total joint arthroplasty, some have conducted regression tests or meta-analyses with controversial results. In this study, we systematically meta-analyzed relevant trials and carefully evaluated the correlation for verification. ⋯ Our findings demonstrate that postoperative PJI is positively correlated with BMI, with obese patients showing a greater risk of developing PJI than non-obese patients. Similarly, morbid obese patients present a higher risk of PJI than non-morbid obese patients. However, this conclusion needs to be corroborated by more prospective studies.

Withdrawing mycophenolate mofetil in treating a young kidney transplant recipient with COVID-19: A case report.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a novel infectious disease and became a global issue. Treatment of COVID-19 especially in solid organ transplant recipients is empirical and controversial, especially the adjustment of the immunosuppressants. ⋯ In certain group of COVID-19 (e.g., mild to moderate cases, young patients without comorbidities), a reduction instead of an overall withdrawal of immunosuppressant in kidney transplant recipients is feasible.

Relationship between perimetric increase and fluoroscopic pattern type in secondary upper limb lymphedema observed by Indocyanine green lymphography.
To ascertain the relationship between the perimetric differences obtained between the limbs and the type of fluoroscopic pattern observed by Indocyanine green (ICG) lymphography in patients with upper limb lymphedema. A correlational descriptive study was carried out in 19 patients with upper limb lymphedema secondary to breast cancer. The perimetric increase was recorded in 11 anatomical regions after ICG injection, fluoroscopic patterns were identified using an infrared camera. ⋯ At the wrist level, a difference of 2 cm was associated with the presence of a worse fluoroscopic pattern, whereas perimeter differences of 4.25 cm in the elbow and 2.25 cm in the arm (12 cm from the epicondyle) were associated with the presence of a better fluoroscopic pattern. The perimetric differences observed between the healthy and affected upper limbs in 4 specific anatomical areas allowed us to predict the type of fluoroscopic pattern. ICG lymphography has facilitated the study of the posterior regions of edema, which are difficult to visualize using other imaging techniques.

Relationship between social capital and heroin use behaviors among patients in methadone maintenance treatment in Sichuan Province, China: A cross-sectional study.
Covertly using heroin during methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) is very common among heroin-dependent patients, which has posed threats to the physical health of heroin-dependent patients and social safety. Covertly using heroin may be influenced by many factors, especially social capital. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the relationship between behaviors of covertly using heroin during MMT and social capital heroin-dependent patients in Sichuan Province, China. ⋯ The prevalence of covertly using heroin of heroin during MMT was 31.0% among our participants in the 6 months before the study. After adjusting for socio-demographic factors and heroin-use related variables, SN (OR = 0.85, 95% CI: 0.76-0.95), SP (OR = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.83-0.95), and ST (OR = 0.88, 95% CI: 0.81-0.95) were significantly associated with heroin use. Results suggest that social capital may have a protective effect on behavior of covertly using heroin during MMT, which should be consider in the interventions for heroin-dependent patients, in order to reduce the incidence of heroin use during MMT as well as improve the compliance of MMT.
