Clinicopathologic characteristics of resectable colorectal cancer with mismatch repair protein defects in Chinese population: Retrospective case series and literature review.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) represents a major malignancy globally, with microsatellite instability as its second top molecular mechanism of carcinogenesis. Immunohistochemical (IHC), whose sensitivity and specificity exceed 90%, is used routinely to detect 4 MMR proteins (MLH1, PMS2, MSH2, and MSH6) for screening mismatch repair system defects. We aimed to assess associations of clinicopathologic characteristics with MMR status in resectable CRC patients. ⋯ Five-year overall survival (OS) rates were 84.2% and 79.2% in left-side and right-side cases, respectively; 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) rates were 74.0% and 69.8%, respectively. Survival had no differences between left- and right-side patients in terms of OS (P = .318) and DFS (P = .481). These data demonstrate that 4 major dMMR proteins are expressed differently in left- and right-side CRCs, and survival is comparable in right- and left-side resectable CRC cases with dMMR.

Efficacy of intra-articular polynucleotides associated with hyaluronic acid vs hyaluronic acid alone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trial.
The reduced range of motion and pain are the most characteristic clinical features of osteoarthritis (OA). Hyaluronic acid (HA), which is one of the infiltrative therapies for OA treatment, and polynucleotides (PNs), which is a DNA-derived macromolecule favored cell growth and collagen production, are an ongoing debate in clinical effectiveness. ⋯ CRD42020167678.

Complications during hospitalization and at 30 days in the intensive cardiac care unit for patients with ST-elevation versus non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome: A protocol for systematic review and meta analysis.
In this meta-analysis, we aimed to systematically compare the complications during hospitalization and at 30 days respectively, in intensive cardiac care unit (ICCU) for patients with ST elevation (STE) vs non-STE acute coronary syndrome (NSTE ACS). ⋯ Patients with STE ACS were at a higher risk for in-hospital and 30 days mortality in this analysis. In hospital, severely abnormal ECG was also significantly higher in this category of patients compared to NSTE ACS. However, re-admission for heart failure and re-infarction was similar in both groups. Future studies should be able to confirm this hypothesis.

The efficacy and safety of daunorubicin versus idarubicin combined with cytarabine for induction therapy in acute myeloid leukemia: A meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.
To ascertain the efficacy and safety of daunorubicin combined with cytarabine comparing with idarubicin combined with cytarabine as a standard induction therapy for acute Myeloid leukemia by a meta-analysis. ⋯ This meta-analysis showed that IA had a better efficacy in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia than DA, even with increased doses of DA. The OS of a standard dose of IA patients was longer than that of DA patients. Our research shows that anthracycline dose intensification of daunorubicin is of no clinically relevant benefit in AML patients comparing with a standard dose of IA. When it comes to adverse drug reactions, it is not a significant difference. Therefore, in clinical practice, IA should be the first choice for induction regimen in patients with acute myeloid leukemia.

This study will systematically synthesize the evidence on the potential association between non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) and acute cerebral infarction (ACI). ⋯ The results of this study will provide helpful evidence to explore the association between NAFL and ACI.Study registration number: INPLASY202040102.
