The incidence and mortality rates of stroke in China are higher than the world average, seriously endangering the public's health and quality of life. It is important to predict the incidence of stroke, identify the high-risk factors in the region, and raise the risk awareness of high-risk groups. This study sought to investigate and analyze the distribution of stroke population and the main risk factors for stroke occurrence in a Chinese population, and to predict the probability of stroke occurrence in high-risk groups with risk factors, so as to provide a scientific basis for the comprehensive prevention and treatment of stroke. ⋯ This study effectively identifies the high risk factors for stroke and provides scientific insights for risk assessment, intervention of risk factors, and decision making of health management departments in the central region of China. The modifable risk factors for stroke such as smoking, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, diabetes mellitus, and sedentary lifestyle were also observed. Our findings further highlight the significant of the primary and secondary prevention for stroke and reveal the potential targets to reduce the heavy stroke burden in China around the world.

Single-port inflatable mediastinoscopic esophagectomy is a cure for esophageal cancer patients: Case report.
It is often difficult to perform transthoracic esophagectomy (TTE) in patients with chest deformities, as these patients may be lost to surgery for non-oncological reasons. ⋯ To the best of our knowledge, the present case is the first single-port inflatable mediastinoscopic esophagectomy performed on a patient undergoing pneumonectomy.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a male disease, which is easy to cause disharmony in sexual life. However, at present, there are few drugs with small side effects in clinic. Jin Gui Shen Qi Pill (JGSQP) is a traditional Chinese medicine compound with obvious clinical effect in treating ED. ⋯ Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations showed that the main components acting on PDE-5 were MOL000546, MOL011169, MOL000279, MOL000273 and Sildenafil. MOL000546 was able to bind stably to PDE-5. The multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway action characteristics of JGSQP were confirmed by network pharmacology, which predicted the possible mechanism of action of JGSQP in the treatment of ED and provided a theoretical reference for further experimental validation.

Successful and minimally invasive extraction of a broken distal end of an intramedullary nail is challenging. This study introduces a simple and reproducible technique for the extraction of broken cannulated intramedullary nails using a novel minimally invasive broken nail extractor. Five amputated adult lower-leg specimens were used to create models of the broken distal end of the cannulated intramedullary nails remaining in the medullary cavity of the distal tibia. ⋯ In the lower-leg specimens, the extraction success rate was 100%, the median number of extraction times was 1.9 (range 1-3.5), and the median duration of extraction was 38 s (range 20-52 s). All the broken intramedullary nails in the 3 patients were successfully extracted without complications related to the surgery. The study shows that our technique is simple, reproducible, and has a high extraction success rate, but more case applications are needed to verify its effect.

Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is an autoimmune cholestatic liver disease. The clinical effectiveness of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) plus glucocorticoids and/or immunosuppressants remains controversial in PBC patients. The study aimed to compare the efficacy of monotherapy and combination therapy in patients with PBC and to assess the factors affecting the efficacy. ⋯ When IgG levels were elevated but below twice the upper limit of normal, the clinical benefit was not significant compared with monotherapy (P > .05). Compared with monotherapy and double therapy, triple therapy may improve the long-term survival rate of PBC patients. Abnormal platelet count, alkaline phosphatase, and albumin levels were associated with a poor prognosis.
