To analyze the molecular mechanism of Qinghao-Biejia (QH-BJ) drug pair in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) based on the method of network pharmacology and molecular docking technology. The components and related targets of QH-BJ drug pair, as well as SLE-related targets, were obtained. Intersection targets of QH-BJ drug pair and SLE were screened to construct the protein-protein interaction network, conduct gene ontology analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analysis, and establish the component-target-pathway network. ⋯ The ligand components can spontaneously bind to the receptor target proteins. Besides, QH-BJ drug pair is likely to act on PI3K/Akt signal pathway, interleukin-17 signal pathway, and TNF signal pathway in the treatment of SLE. The study indicates that QH-BJ drug pair might play a role in the treatment of SLE through multi-components, multi-targets, and multi-pathways.

To identify independent factors for predicting loneliness in patients with hematological malignancies. It is an observational cross-sectional study. 157 patients with hematologic malignancies were enrolled between March 2020 and May 2020. The sociodemographic characteristics and psychometric properties (coping styles, self-esteem, big 5 personality traits, and hope) were tested for correlation with loneliness. ⋯ Furthermore, sociodemographic factors (occupation) and psychometric properties (coping styles and hope) were identified as independent predictors for loneliness in patients with hematological malignancies. Loneliness is highly prevalent in patients with hematological malignancies. Notably, occupation, times of hospitalization, family earning, coping styles, self-esteem, big 5 personality traits, and hope are all independent risk factors for loneliness.

It has been hypothesized that short appendices increase intraluminal pressure more rapidly and perforate more frequently than long appendices. Two hundred seventy-seven adult patients were retrospectively analyzed and underwent an appendectomy between January 2015 and August 2021. Data extracted from patient records included sex, age, time from admission to operation (hospital interval), weekday or weekend operation time, and operative and pathological findings. ⋯ Appendix lengths were similar in both groups, and length was not a factor in the development of perforation (P = .83). This study found that the development of perforated appendicitis is not related to the length of the appendix. The risk of perforation increased with age.

Whether continuous low-dose human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) supplementation during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) can improve oocyte and embryo quality is still controversial in clinical practice. ⋯ In conclude, supplementation with low-dose hCG from the onset of ovarian stimulation can improve oocyte quality without impairing endometrial receptivity.

Case Reports
Two possible etiologies of Guillain-Barré syndrome: mRNA-1273 (Moderna) vaccination and scrub typhus: A case report.
Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an acute inflammatory polyneuropathy related to infection with bacteria or virus and vaccination. Cases of GBS after coronavirus infection-19 (COVID-19) vaccination have been reported. However, cases of GBS after inoculation with mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines, especially mRNA-1273, have rarely been reported compared to after inoculation with adenovirus vector-based COVID-19 vaccines. On 1 hand, GBS occurring after scrub typhus is often reported, but the exact pathological mechanism has not been elucidated. We report the case of a patient with GBS after inoculation with mRNA-1273 COVID-19 vaccine and scrub typhus. ⋯ When GBS is suspected, early evaluation and treatment can lead to favorable outcomes. Considering that cases of GBS after COVID-19 vaccination have been reported, it is important to conduct early evaluation and management of patients with muscle weakness after COVID-19 vaccination to ensure early detection of GBS. And even if fever and rash are side effects that can occur frequently after vaccination, it is necessary to consider other diseases in addition to the side effects of the vaccine. This is to prevent delay in diagnosis and treatment of other diseases.
