Infertility has become a global public health issue. In vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) is widely performed as an infertility treatment. However, a significant number of infertile women continue to experience serial implantation failure, despite the high quality of the transferred embryos. Jian-Pi-An-Tai formula is an experience formula in treating threatened abortion in our team. It has also been used to treat infertile women after embryo transfer and shows superiority compared to single use of conventional western medicine. However, the of evidence on its effective in treating infertile women undergo IVF-ET is lacking. ⋯ The results of this RCT will contribute to provide scientific and rigorous evidence for the efficacy and safety of Jian-Pi-An-Tai formula in treating infertile women undergo IVF-ET. And the results from this RCT will be published in a relevant journal after finished.

Postoperative recovery is a complex process and affected mainly by factors from patients, surgery and anesthesia. Although we have all kinds of sedatives and hypnotics now, the selection of an ideal medication for general anesthesia is still challenging. In this study, we perform a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the effect of propofol-based total intravenous anesthesia and sevoflurane-based inhalation anesthesia on postoperative quality of recovery in patients undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy. ⋯ This study may provide the evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of total intravenous anesthesia and inhalation anesthesia on postoperative quality of recovery after laparoscopic hysterectomy.

Due to contradicting findings on impact of statins on endothelial function in type 2 diabetes mellitus especially across the randomized controlled trials (RCTs). With this systematic review, we aim to evaluate whether the use of statins improves endothelial function in adults with type 2 diabetes. We will further highlight if these biomarkers are ideal therapeutic targets for risk for atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. ⋯ This study will not involve human samples and patient data; hence ethics approval will not be required. The findings will be presented in journal clubs and conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Neuropathic pain (NP) is one of the most prevalent and troublesome symptoms of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), seriously affecting the patient's life. At present, effective treatment for NP induced by NMOSD does not exist. Pulsed radiofrequency (PRF), an emerging microinvasive therapy, alleviates pain and is widely used to treat various types of NP. This is the first report describing a patient with NMOSD-associated NP treated with PRF on the left cervical 6 nerve root. ⋯ PRF might be effective for the management of intractable neuropathic pain caused by NMOSD.

Both small bowel intussusception in adults and small bowel hemangioma are rare benign mass lesions. Moreover, a secondary effect of intussusception caused by hemangioma is extremely rare. ⋯ The literature on intussusception of small intestine has described several possible causes including hemangioma, which more likely results in gastrointestinal bleeding or abdominal pain. Yet we experienced a rare case presenting as abdominal distention without nausea and vomiting, Therefore, preoperative diagnosis and localization of these lesions is of great importance. We recommend high resolution contrast-enhanced computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging should be considered in diagnosis while capsule endoscopy is not available owing to the intestinal obstruction, as long as in facilitating surgical excision.
