Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is an inflammatory arthropathy with onset in children younger than 16 years. Treatment is primarily medical; however, surgical interventions, such as arthroscopic or open synovectomy, can be beneficial. Many studies have investigated synovectomy in JIA, but the results of these studies have not been synthesized to our knowledge. Therefore, we performed a systematic review of the literature reporting synovectomy as a treatment for JIA to provide clinical recommendations regarding its risks and benefits. ⋯ Although synovectomy is associated with positive functional outcomes and pain reduction postoperatively, there was inadequate comparison thus inadequate evidence to recommend it over modern medical therapy. The current literature suggests that synovectomy should be offered only to patients for whom medical management has failed, while noting the risks of decreased range of motion and symptom recurrence over time.

Extraosseous osteochondroma of superficial fascia layer of the heel: A case report and review of literature.
Osteochondroma is a common benign bone tumor consisting of cartilage-covered bone confluent with the medullary canal of the epiphysis. Extraosseous osteochondroma shares the same appearance and histologic features as a typical osteochondroma but does not have any attachment to surrounding bone structures. Because of its low incidence, extraosseous osteochondroma is uncommon in clinical workups and thus prone to misdiagnosis. The diagnosis of extraosseous osteochondroma should be considered when there is a well-defined bony mass in the soft tissue with no direct continuity with the adjacent bone or joint. Here, we present a case of an imaging diagnosis of "calcified bursitis in the subcutaneous superficial fascial layer" and a postoperative pathological diagnosis of "extraosseous osteochondroma." ⋯ For foot tumors, we need to consider the possibility of extraosseous osteochondroma. After completing the auxiliary examination, we should determine the relationship between the tumor and its surrounding tissues and blood supply before surgery to avoid causing major trauma.

Bladder triangle amyloidosis: A case report and literature review.
Amyloidosis is a group of benign lesions characterized by extracellular deposition of amyloid proteins. Amyloidosis lesions can occur in various organs of the body, but rarely in the urinary system. Amyloidosis in the bladder trigone is extremely rare. ⋯ The clinical manifestations of bladder amyloidosis are nonspecific, and under cystoscopy can be easily confused with bladder tumors. Accurate diagnosis of bladder amyloidosis relies on histopathology. Transurethral resection of bladder tumors or partial cystectomy is an option for surgical treatment; the latter should be performed if the ureteral opening is involved.

A novel prognostic signature for lung adenocarcinoma based on cuproptosis-related lncRNAs: A Review.
Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a highly heterogeneous disease with complex pathogenesis, high mortality, and poor prognosis. Cuproptosis is a new type of programmed cell death triggered by copper accumulation that may play an important role in cancer. LncRNAs are becoming valuable prognostic factors in cancer patients. ⋯ Tumor Mutational Burden analysis and chemotherapeutic drug sensitivity prediction were performed to assess the clinical feasibility of the risk model. The novel prognostic signature consisted of 5 potentially high-risk CRlncRNAs, MAP3K20-AS1, CRIM1-DT, AC006213.3, AC008035.1, and NR2F2-AS1, and 5 potentially protective CRlncRNAs, AC090948.1, AL356481.1, AC011477.2, AL031600.2, and AC026355.2, which had accurate and robust predictive power for LUAD patients. Collectively, the novel prognostic signature constructed based on CRlncRNAs can effectively assess and predict the prognosis of patients and provide a new perspective for the diagnosis and treatment of LUAD.

A syringe is used to inject fluid or medicine into the patient's soft tissue. The main components of the syringe were the needle, barrel, and plunger. The use of syringes in the medical world is relatively high, and especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of hypodermic syringes increased sharply due to vaccination. ⋯ The researchers found that most of the products met the minimum specifications of the ISO, and that the dimensions and shape of the syringe affected the dead space. Researchers have not examined other performance measures recommended by the ISO. Researchers have focused more on force injection than force piston operation, leakage after injection or back spray than air and water leakage, and reduction the friction of the plunger without considering the fitting position of the plunger in the barrel.
