Case Reports
Mantle cell lymphoma presenting with severe upper gastrointestinal bleeding: A case report.
Although it usually involves extranodal sites such as the gastrointestinal tract in more than 80% of cases, mantle cell lymphoma is considered a rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding, especially severe and life-threatening bleeding. ⋯ Mantle cell lymphoma should be kept in mind when assessing massive upper GI bleeding, as an unusual cause of bleeding gastric ulcer, given that bleeding is an uncommon presenting feature of GI lymphoma.

Multicenter Study Observational Study
Korean medicine registry of herbal medicine for weight loss.
In South Korea, the prevalence of obesity has continuously increased over the last decade, and the burden of social and economic costs has also increased immensely. The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical characteristics and current status of patients receiving herbal medicine (HM) treatment for weight loss in Korean medicine (KM) by constructing a multi-institutional prospective registry. ⋯ This study is the first prospective, multicenter registry of HM for weight loss in KM clinics. The results of this registry may show the current status of patients who receive HM treatments for weight loss and provide evidence for reasonable decision-making on KM healthcare policy for obese patients in the future.

We aim to report the incidences of ED visits due to back pain, hospitalizations, and urgent spine surgeries during the first and second waves of COVID-19 in Finland. The number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations due to back pain as well as urgent spine surgeries in the adult population was collected from hospital discharge registers for the years 2017 through 2019 (reference years) and 2020. This study was conducted at three large Finnish hospitals. ⋯ A clear decrease in ED visits due to back pain was seen during the first and second waves of the pandemic. This decrease was mainly the result of patients with non-specific back pain avoiding visits to the ED. The incidence of specific back pain, hospitalizations, and urgent spine surgeries remained unchanged during the pandemic.

Effects of hydrodissection on anesthesia characteristics in ultrasound guided infraclavicular brachial plexus blockade.
The development of ultrasonography technology and its widespread application have increased peripheral nerve block applications, especially in limb surgeries, since it reduces complication rates and increases success rates in peripheral nerve block applications. However, even experienced physicians need to direct a large number of needles and injections for adequate local anesthetic spread, which can cause accidental vascular puncture and local anesthetic systemic toxicity. Such complications can be prevented by hydrodissection and a safer and successful anesthesia can be provided to patients in this study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of hydrodissection on anesthesia characteristics in the infraclavicular brachial plexus blockade. ⋯ In this study, it has been shown that hydrodissection in peripheral nerve blocks does not lag in terms of block success and characteristics compared to normal methods, whereas anesthetists with less experience in peripheral nerve block experience obtain safer and more successful results in practice.

Since mass-scale severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 vaccination, there have been case reports of several immune-mediated reactions, including new-onset and flares of glomerular disorders following immunization with mRNA coronavirus disease 2019 vaccines. Here, we report two cases, the first to our knowledge, of relapsing cryoglobulinemic vasculitis with new-onset severe renal involvement following mRNA coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination. ⋯ The temporal association of the relapse of the cryoglobulinemic vasculitis to mRNA coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination suggest that the vaccine might have been a trigger for the reactivation of the disease in our cases. This possible association should be acknowledged by physicians in order to provide optimal monitoring and treatment in case of reactivation of the disease post-immunization.
