Expression characteristics of the yes-associated protein in breast cancer: A meta-analysis.
The yes-associated protein (YAP) gene plays an important role in many malignant tumors, but its clinical significance in breast cancer remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the significance of YAP expression in breast cancer using meta-analysis. ⋯ YAP may participate in the occurrence and development of non-TNBC as a tumor suppressor gene; however, it may also be a carcinogenic factor in TNBC and may be a potential therapeutic target for TNBC.

The efficacy of Yiqi Huoxue therapy for chronic heart failure: A meta-analysis in accordance with PRISMA guideline.
Chronic heart failure (CHF) is the final destination of most cardiovascular diseases and the most important cause of death. The main clinical manifestations were pulmonary congestion and decreased cardiac output. The purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate the effectiveness of Yiqi Huoxue therapy on CHF. ⋯ YQHX is a valid complementary and alternative therapy in the management of CHF, especially in improving overall response rate, TCM syndrome response rate, 6-minute walk test, left ventricular ejection fraction, and stroke volume and in decreasing TCM syndrome scores, Minnesota Living with Heart Failure questionnaire, 6-month readmission rate, B-type natriuretic peptide, NT-proBNP, and C-reactive protein levels. Hence, YQHX is a relatively effective and safe therapy for CHF patients, which can be popularized and applied in the clinic. More long-term follow-up studies are still needed to substantiate and confirm the current findings.

Few reports have focused on the use of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) to promote the postoperative recovery of patients with choledocholithiasis. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the advantages and safety of ERAS in patients who underwent LCBDE. From December 2016 to February 2020, 86 and 84 patients were retrospectively enrolled in the control and ERAS groups, respectively. ⋯ In terms of the postoperative rehabilitation efficacy, the time of postoperative activity of the patient, time of postoperative first flatus, time of postoperative analgesic use, time of abdominal drainage tube removal, time of postoperative T-tube closing, and length of postoperative hospital stay in the ERAS group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (all P < .05). Additionally, the overall incidence of postoperative complications in the ERAS group had a decreasing trend when compared with that in the control group (P = .05). ERAS can reduce the postoperative stress response and postoperative complications of patients undergoing LCBDE, promote rehabilitation and shorten the length of postoperative hospital stay and therefore has good social and economic benefits.

This article reports 2 cases of symptomatic postoperative discal pseudocysts (PDP), a rare complication of percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal lumbar discectomy (PELD). In this report, we propose a possible mechanism of PDP and introduce an effective therapeutic strategy. To our knowledge, there have been no reports of the use of indwelling drainage techniques for the PDP treatment after PELD. ⋯ According to operative findings, we found that PDP symptoms may not be attributable mainly to cyst compression but to the excessive accumulation of local inflammatory factors. Treatment of PELD combined with indwelling drainage is feasible and effective in treating PDP.

Alzheimer disease (AD) is a degenerative brain disease, which may lead to severe memory loss and other cognitive disorders. However, few effective drugs are available in the clinic at present. Curcumin, a major ingredient of traditional Chinese medicine, Curcuma Longa, has various pharmacological activities. Therefore, exploring clinical drugs based on the inhibition of AD pathological features is imperative. ⋯ In this study, we identified curcumin exerted the effect of treating AD by regulating multitargets and multichannels through the method of network pharmacology.
