Machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques are gaining popularity as effective tools for coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) research. These strategies can be used in diagnosis, prognosis, therapy, and public health management. Bibliometric analysis quantifies the quality and impact of scholarly publications. ML in COVID-19 research is the focus of this bibliometric analysis. ⋯ This study provides useful insights for academics and clinicians studying COVID-19 using ML. Through bibliometric data analysis, scholars can learn about highly recognized and productive authors and countries, as well as the publications with the most citations and keywords. New data and methodologies from the pandemic are expected to advance ML and AI modeling. It is crucial to recognize that these studies will pioneer this subject.

The number of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures is increasing along with the number of studies involving guidelines, prognostic assessments, and cardiac rehabilitation related to PCI strategies. However, fewer studies have reported the mapping of knowledge structure and hotspot analysis in this field. Our goal was to discuss and analyze the current status, hot spots and developmental trends associated with research into the prognosis of patients undergoing PCI, and to provide reference for PCI-related research. ⋯ The findings of this bibliometric study present a comprehensive and systematic overview of the PCI prognosis, based on the analysis of the current status and trends in research, which may facilitate the identification of hot topics and new directions for future research.

Self-limited corneal ectasia in a post-LASIK eye after cataract surgery: A case report.
To present a case with a history of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) developing central conic protrusion after phacoemulsification cataract surgery, which spontaneously resolved 5 months postoperatively. ⋯ For post-LASIK patient who developed corneal protrusion following uneventful cataract surgery with a clear corneal incision, the clear corneal wound may have disrupted the biomechanical stability of the post-LASIK eye, compromising the peripheral stromal integrity. Additionally, postoperative inflammation could have contributed to corneal ectasia. Smaller clear corneal wounds or scleral tunnel entry during cataract surgery in post-LASIK eyes should be considered. Monitoring wound healing and using topical steroids can aid in achieving satisfactory outcomes and reducing the potential vision-threatening complications associated with corneal ectasia.

The European League Against Rheumatism recommendations for the management of rheumatoid arthritis advised the involvement of clinical nurses for the management of rheumatoid arthritis. However, The European League Against Rheumatism recommendations are difficult to apply to Chinese institutes. In China, the rheumatology nursing service is not widely adopted because the feasibility and quality of rheumatology nursing service have not been confirmed in the Chinese population by the Chinese authorities. ⋯ Outpatient care satisfaction scores of patients of the NC cohort were higher than those of the RC [23 (27-17) vs 17 (21-14)] and NN [23 (7-17) vs 15 [18-12]) cohorts (P < .001 for both). Physiological and psychological conditions of patients with rheumatoid arthritis with DAS28-CRP > 5.1 are required to improve. Nurse-supported care is superior nontreatment compared to rheumatologist-led care in rheumatoid arthritis patients with high disease activity (Level of Evidence: IV; Technical Efficacy: Stage 5).

To investigate the causal relationship between hypothyroidism and frozen shoulder using a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. Pooled data from a large-scale genome-wide association study (GWAS) were used. Genetic loci that were independent of each other and associated with hypothyroidism and frozen shoulder in populations of European ancestry were selected as instrumental variables. ⋯ IVW results showed an OR (95% CI) of 1.07 (1.01-1.14), P = .024, indicating that hypothyroidism is a risk factor for a frozen shoulder. And no pleiotropy was found by the test, and sensitivity analysis also showed robust results. This study used 2-sample MR analysis to analyze and explore the genetic data, and the results showed a higher prevalence of frozen shoulder in patients with hypothyroidism, suggesting that active control of hypothyroidism may reduce the occurrence of frozen shoulder.
