Effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the outcomes of in vitro fertilization in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome: A randomized controlled study.
To explore the effects of comprehensive nursing intervention on in vitro fertilization (IVF) and pregnancy outcomes in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). ⋯ Patients with PCOS who receive comprehensive care can increase their probability of IVF, improve their pregnancy outcomes, and have a positive significance in reducing negative emotions.

Causality between sarcopenia-related traits and major depressive disorder: A bi-directional, two-sample Mendelian randomized study.
Observational studies have demonstrated an association between sarcopenia and depression. However, these studies may be influenced by confounding factors, and the causal relationship between sarcopenia and major depressive disorder (MDD) remains unclear. This study aimed to apply the Mendelian randomization (MR) method to address confounding factors and assess the causal effect of sarcopenia on MDD. ⋯ There was a causal relationship between sarcopenia-related traits and MDD. Loss of muscle strength, rather than skeletal muscle mass, is correlated with an increased risk of MDD. Furthermore, individuals with MDD are more likely to experience loss of skeletal muscle mass.

Modified Suanzaoren decoction in treating post-stroke cognitive impairment with comorbid insomnia symptoms: A clinical trial.
Cognitive impairment and insomnia are common complications for stroke patients, and often coexist without effective therapy. Modified Suanzaoren decoction (M-SZRD), derived from a famous classic prescription, has been used as an alternative treatment for these patients. The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of M-SZRD in treating post-stroke cognitive impairment with comorbid insomnia symptoms. ⋯ M-SZRD is a more effective treatment for improving cognitive function in patients with post-stroke cognitive impairment and comorbid insomnia symptoms, possibly by regulating the cortisol levels of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and FT3 levels of the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis.

Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) is an immune-mediated inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. This study aimed to delineate the clinical manifestations, imaging features, and long-term outcomes in Chinese patients with MOGAD and analyze the recurrence-associated factors. The phenotypic and neuroimaging characteristics of 15 Han Chinese patients with MOGAD were retrospectively analyzed. ⋯ Optic neuritis was the most common clinical manifestation of MOGAD. magnetic resonance imaging findings were heterogeneous and the cerebral cortex/subcortical white matter was the most susceptible brain region. Although patients in the acute phase responded well to methylprednisolone pulse therapy, the long-term recurrence rate was high. Consistently detected serum MOG antibodies and inappropriate maintenance immunotherapy may be associated with recurrence, and residual neurological deficits should not be ignored.

This study aimed to estimate dietary sodium and potassium consumption among Jamaicans and evaluate associations with sociodemographic and clinical characteristics. A cross-sectional study was conducted using data from the Jamaica Health and Lifestyle Survey 2016-2017. Participants were noninstitutionalized Jamaicans aged ≥15 years. ⋯ In this study, sodium consumption was directly associated with male sex, obesity, and current smoking but was inversely associated with older age and higher education. High potassium consumption was associated with obesity and high cholesterol levels. These associations should be further explored in longitudinal studies and population-based strategies should be developed to address these cardiovascular risk factors.
