Chest-computer tomography (CT) is a crucial factor in the clinical course and evaluation of patients with COVID-pneumonia. In the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic little information was known on the prognostic value of the initially taken thoracic CTs. The purpose of this study was to determine predictive values for clinical outcome based on CT classification of the pulmonary pathologies in patients with COVID-pneumonia. ⋯ A classification system used in this study is helpful for classifying imaging features and is recommended as a standardized CT reporting tool. It could also help in triaging of the therapy of patients with COVID-19 pneumonia. Especially the comorbidities, diabetes and arterial hypertonia triggered a negative outcome in our study population.

Bronchiolitis obliterans (BO) is a rare and irreversible chronic respiratory disease. The diagnosis of BO is challenging, and there still needs to be specific therapies and uniform treatment guidelines available. Research on BO has grown steadily over the past 20 years, and with the continued interest of researchers in this area, a bibliometric study of BO becomes necessary. ⋯ We analyzed the publication trends in BO by bibliometrics and mapped the knowledge network of major contributing countries/regions, institutions, authors, and journals. Current research hotspots were found based on the main keywords and references. The outcome may help researchers identify potential collaborators, collaborating institutions, and hot fronts in BO to enhance collaboration on critical issues and improve the diagnosis and treatment of BO.

We visually assessed the research hotspots of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) using bibliometrics and knowledge mapping in light of the research state and development trend of FH. ⋯ FH research has shown shows a trend of ascending followed by leveling off. The prevalence and diagnosis of FH, proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin 9 inhibitors, inclisiran, and gene therapy are current research hotspots. This report may serve as a reference for current research trends.

This study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics, management and prognosis of Bacillus cereus sepsis in premature neonates. The clinical information of 8 premature neonates with B cereus sepsis who were treated in Shanghai Children Hospital from January 2015 to December 2019 was retrospectively collected from the medical records and analyzed. The neurodevelopment related conditions were collected at follow up visits at corrected age of 6 months and 12 months. ⋯ B cereus infection can cause severe complications of central nervous system, and affect neurodevelopmental outcome. Antibiotic treatment with meropenem and vancomycin is proven to be effective. Refreshing the central catheters is helpful for the prevention of B cereus sepsis and cerebral magnetic resonance image may be employed for the prognosis assessment.

Abdominal compartment syndrome caused by severe acute gastric distension in a patient with COVID-19: A case report.
The clinical manifestation of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) ranges from asymptomatic to critical. The gastrointestinal (GI) tract is involved in the early stages of the disease and is recognized as an important entry site for the virus. Consequently, GI manifestations are common in patients with COVID-19; however, the GI presentation of COVID-19 in relation to bowel dilatation has rarely been reported. Here, we report a case of acute severe gastric distension resulting in aortic compression and abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) in a patient with COVID-19. ⋯ ACS is critical, which can be caused by a severe degree of acute gastric distension (AGD). Evacuation of the intraluminal contents is the most efficient management strategy. Prognosis is poor, and most previous studies of the transition from AGD to ACS have reported unfavorable outcomes.
