Comparison of clinical outcomes between ticagrelor and clopidogrel in patients with acute coronary syndrome and left ventricle dysfunction undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: An observational study.
Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and left ventricular (LV) dysfunction undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) need adequate antithrombotic protection. We aim to compare the clinical outcomes between ticagrelor and clopidogrel in these patients. In total, 336 patients with ACS and LV dysfunction who undergoing PCI were included in this retrospective observational study. ⋯ Furthermore, in Cox survival regression analysis model, the survival rate of the efficacy endpoint in the clopidogrel group was seemingly higher than in the ticagrelor group (HR = 1.68, 95% CI: 0.97-2.90, P = .065). The survival rate of the bleeding endpoint in the clopidogrel group was higher than in the ticagrelor group (HR = 2.00, 95% CI: 1.17-3.40, P = .011). Compared to clopidogrel, ticagrelor showed increased risk of efficacy outcome and major bleeding events during 6-month follow-up in patients with ACS and LV dysfunction undergoing PCI.

Postoperative clearance of high-risk human papillomavirus for patients with high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion: Conization versus hysterectomy.
To compare the clearance rate of high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) in patients with high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) after 2 different treatments (conization vs hysterectomy), and investigate the influencing factors. A retrospective cohort was established in HSIL patients with HR-HPV infection treated with conization or hysterectomy from July 2020 to May 2022. Age matching (1:1) was conducted between conization group and hysterectomy group. ⋯ Considering different age groups among all patients, the HR-HPV clearance rates were 81.8%, 72.9%, 73.5%, and 53.6% in the 20 to 30-year, 31 to 40-year, 41 to 50-year and 51 to 60-year groups at 6 months, respectively, and the clearance rates were 87.5%, 80.6%, 84.5% and 52.9% at 12 months, respectively. For HSIL, the postoperative HPV clearance rates were similar between the 2 groups (conization vs hysterectomy), conization is enough to resect the lesion and eliminate HPV. In addition, we should pay attention to the postoperative HR-HPV status in the older population of the 2 groups.

Malnutrition and other associated factors among the hospitalized elderly in Vietnam: A cross-sectional study.
Malnutrition is common among older inpatients and can lead to severe consequences such as disability, assisted living, increased mortality, and prolonged hospital stays. Given the rapidly aging population in Vietnam, limited data is available regarding the nutritional status of the geriatric. This research aimed to determine the prevalence of malnutrition and associated factors among the hospitalized elderly. ⋯ Age group, education level, cohabitation, serum albumin, hand-drip strength, physical inactivity, and frailty were associated with malnutrition. The prevalence of malnutrition in the elderly accounts for a very high proportion. Nutritional status assessment is essential for the elderly; therefore, more attention should be paid to those risk factors in old age health care in order to improve medical outcomes.

Experience sharing of a case of dual atrioventricular nodal non-reentrant tachycardia: Case report.
Tachycardia is a common arrhythmia in clinical practice, and its pathogenesis is mostly related to reentry. However, there are also a few tachycardia that are not related to reentry. Actively clarifying the pathogenesis of these non-reentry related tachycardia is of great significance for its treatment. ⋯ DAVNNT is a rare disease in clinical practice. Its characteristic is not reentration-related arrhythmias, but the phenomenon of increased heart rate caused by electrical conduction down the double pathway of atrioventricular nodal tract and subsequent pathway. Electrophysiological examination helps to clarify the diagnosis and pathogenesis, and catheter ablation can cure the disease.

Paraneoplastic pemphigus (PNP) is a rare, life-threatening autoimmune bullous disease. Among the ≈500 reported cases of PNP, only 1 case has been associated with tonsillar cancer, specifically, human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive squamous carcinoma. However, the occurrence of PNP in non-HPV-related tonsillar cancer is exceptionally rare and has not been reported to date. ⋯ Early indicators, such as oral mucosal ulcers and skin blisters, prompt consideration of underlying oral cancer in PNP. Comprehensive examination is crucial for diagnosing PNP and identifying concurrent internal neoplasms. Effective management includes occult malignancy treatment, postoperative steroid therapy, and infection prevention.
