The increasing global popularity of traditional Chinese exercise (TCE) provides substantial evidence of its significant efficacy in treating knee osteoarthritis (KOA). To assess the impact of different types of TCE and varying exercise durations on KOA patients, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on this topic. ⋯ Based on the results of our meta-analysis, it can be concluded that both long-term and short-term TCE interventions are effective in alleviating the main symptoms of KOA and improving patients' physical function. However, due to limited methodological quality and inconsistent outcome measures in the included RCTs, further high-quality RCTs with larger sample sizes and longer-term interventions are necessary to validate our findings before TCE can be recommended as a treatment for KOA.

Efficacy and safety of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for diabetes peripheral neuropathy: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Diabetes peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is mainly treated with diabetes as a whole, and there is no targeted treatment. Some studies have reported that adjuvant hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for DPN has achieved a good effect, our study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of HBOT for DPN and provide reference for the clinic by using a systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ HBOT significantly enhances treatment efficacy and nerve conduction velocity in patients with DPN, with few adverse events, making it a safe and effective adjunctive therapy for DPN.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic inflammatory condition that significantly affects quality of life. Conventional treatments have had limited success. this study evaluates the safety and efficacy of Sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor modulators (S1PrMs) as a potential treatment for IBD. ⋯ S1PrMs show promising potential for establishing histologic remission, endoscopic improvement, clinical remission, and corticosteroid-free clinical remission. With more studies and clinical trials, these modulators may become a reliable therapeutic choice for UC patients everywhere.

Maternal health remains a global priority, with particular emphasis on combating infectious diseases such as HIV and malaria during pregnancy. Despite significant progress in prevention and treatment efforts, both HIV and malaria continue to pose significant risks to maternal and fetal well-being, particularly in resource-limited settings. The prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) programs for HIV and intermittent preventive treatment (IPTp) for malaria represent cornerstone strategies in mitigating the impact of these infections on pregnancy outcomes. ⋯ Strengthening health systems, improving access to antenatal care services, and enhancing community engagement are essential components of comprehensive maternal health strategies. Furthermore, promoting awareness, education, and empowerment of pregnant women and communities are vital in fostering health-seeking behaviors and adherence to preventive measures against HIV and malaria. In conclusion, protecting maternal health from the dual threat of HIV and malaria requires a multifaceted approach that encompasses prevention, screening, treatment, and community engagement.
