Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a metabolic syndrome that has been identified as an independent risk factor for osteoarthritis (OA) and may even trigger and exacerbate the progression of OA. However, the relationship between T2DM and OA is complex and has not yet been fully clarified by current research. In this study, we analyzed the potential mechanism of action between T2DM and OA by bioinformatics. ⋯ The functions of genes similar to the hub genes are focused on cell chemotaxis, positive regulation of cell migration, positive regulation of RNA polymerase II transcription, regulation of leukocyte migration, epithelial cell proliferation, and integrated stress response signaling. The transcription factor Jun and C-X-C motif chemokine 8 may play an important role in the inflammatory response caused by advanced glycation end products. This study improves our understanding of T2DM complicating OA and helps to stimulate more effective treatments.

The landscape of research roles within academic journals often remains uncharted territory, with authorial contributions frequently reduced to linear hierarchies (e.g., professor and assistant professor). The Kano model, traditionally used in customer satisfaction research, offers a nuanced framework for identifying the multifaceted roles of authors in scholarly publications. This study utilizes the Kano model to dissect and categorize the roles of authors in the medicine field. ⋯ The Kano model serves as an effective tool for uncovering the diverse contributions of authors in medical research. By moving beyond the lead and follower dichotomy, this study highlights the intricate ecosystem of authorial roles, emphasizing the importance of each in advancing knowledge within the field of medicine. Future application of the Kano model could foster a more collaborative and inclusive recognition of contributions across various disciplines.

To explore the clinical value of the triple pre-rehabilitation nursing model in laparoscopic radical surgery for gastric cancer. Eighty-two gastric cancer patients admitted to a certain hospital from May 2020 to May 2023 are included in this study. Patients were divided into control group (CG) and treatment group according to different nursing methods. ⋯ The sleep quality of the CG before nursing was 22.57 ± 3.66, and after nursing was 14.36 ± 3.72. The satisfaction rate of the OG was 56.10%, while that of the CG was 46.34%. Patients can better adapt to the treatment process, reduce anxiety, and improve the treatment effect and quality of life after the triple pre-rehabilitation nursing care model and acupoint paste combined with ear acupoint bean pressing burrowing in traditional Chinese medicine nursing.

This study aimed to identify the chemical constituents of Oxalis corniculata L. decoction. Furthermore, the mechanism of action of O corniculata L. decoction in treating osteoarthritis (OA) was investigated utilizing network pharmacology. The chemical composition of the O corniculata L. decoction was analyzed by employing UHPLC-Q-Exactive-MS/MS. ⋯ In addition, GAPDH, TNF, TP53, epidermal growth factor receptor, and ESR1 may be key targets for the treatment of OA, primarily involving lipid and atherosclerosis, cellular senescence, IL-17 signaling pathway, and epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance signaling pathways. This method preliminarily identified the chemical composition of O corniculata L. decoction and predicted the active ingredients, potential targets, and signaling pathways of O corniculata L. decoction in treating OA. The findings of this research revealed the potential function of O corniculata L. decoction in anti-inflammation, alongside its ability to promote osteoblast proliferation and differentiation, providing new ideas for the processing of O corniculata L. herbs and related drug development.
