Cardiogenic shock is a clinical syndrome caused by primary heart disease that results in decreased cardiac output and insufficient systemic perfusion. A study was conducted to determine what factors affect survival in patients with cardiogenic shock treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). ⋯ According to the study, total bilirubin, creatinine, and lactic acid levels were lower in the survival group than in the death group when ECMO was used to treat cardiogenic patients, suggesting a better prognosis for patients with cardiogenic shock. Therefore, total bilirubin, creatinine, and lactic acid could be influential factors in the prognosis of survival in patients with cardiogenic shock.

Assessment of readability, reliability, and quality of ChatGPT®, BARD®, Gemini®, Copilot®, Perplexity® responses on palliative care.
There is no study that comprehensively evaluates data on the readability and quality of "palliative care" information provided by artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots ChatGPT®, Bard®, Gemini®, Copilot®, Perplexity®. Our study is an observational and cross-sectional original research study. In our study, AI chatbots ChatGPT®, Bard®, Gemini®, Copilot®, and Perplexity® were asked to present the answers of the 100 questions most frequently asked by patients about palliative care. ⋯ Of the 5 AI chatbots whose answers about palliative care were evaluated, Bard®, Copilot®, Perplexity®, ChatGPT®, Gemini®, their current answers were found to be well above the recommended levels in terms of readability of text content. Text content quality assessment scores are also low. Both the quality and readability of texts should be brought to appropriate recommended limits.

Anemia among adult patients with diabetes attending King Abdulaziz University Hospital: A retrospective study.
The prevalence of anemia in adults with diabetes is of growing importance due to its impact on overall health and the management of diabetes-related complications. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of anemia among adult patients with diabetes at King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A retrospective study was done on 1208 patients with diabetes >18 years who attended the study setting from 2010 to 2022. ⋯ Anemia screening should be included in the routine assessment of patients with diabetes. A multidisciplinary approach involving endocrinologists, hematologists, and dietitians is recommended to ensure holistic care and address all aspects of the patient's health. In addition, further research should be supported to better understand the mechanisms linking diabetes and anemia and to establish evidence-based guidelines for managing anemia in diabetics.

Sex differences in clinical profile and risk factors of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis at a high-altitude area: A 10-year retrospective cross-sectional study.
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is an uncommon disorder with an increased mortality risk. Data on the sex-specific clinical profile and related factors can be practical in clinical diagnosis and management. Thus, we aimed to assess CVST characteristics in Shahrekord, the most elevated city among the centers of the provinces of Iran, referred to as the Roof of Iran. ⋯ This study indicates that among CVST patients, men have significantly higher occurrences of sinusitis, and higher levels of erythrocyte sedimentation rate were observed in women. However, no other significant differences were found. More extensive studies are essential to fully comprehend the sex-specific aspects of CVST.
