We conducted an investigation into the correlation between HOXA and associated long-noncoding RNAs, along with their clinicopathologic and prognostic features in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). ⋯ The HOXA gene family has some potential to emerge as a novel prognostic factor for NSCLC and is correlated with some clinicopathological parameters such as the TNM stage, age and smoking. However, further meticulously designed prospective studies are warranted to substantiate these findings.

Japanese spotted fever in an area endemic to SFTS virus: Case report and review of the literature.
The geographic spread of Japanese spotted fever (JSF) in China is gradually expanding, particularly in regions where severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is highly prevalent, with both diseases sharing similarities in epidemiology and clinical presentation. The microbiological diagnosis of JSF is challenging, compounded by low awareness among healthcare professionals in newly affected areas. Moreover, primary healthcare facilities without polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing capabilities for SFTS often misdiagnose JSF as SFTS. ⋯ By comparing the clinical characteristics of JSF patients and SFTS patients comprehensively, we found that APTT and procalcitonin levels may be valuable in assisting in the identification of SFTS and JSF. In all areas where tick-borne diseases are endemic, include SFTS-epidemic areas, we recommend using the Weil-Felix test to screen for potential rickettsiosis in patients presenting with fever and thrombocytopenia with or without rash in primary healthcare settings, as well as simultaneous testing for the SFTS virus and spotted fever group rickettsioses sequence. Additionally, mNGS sequencing should be used to confirm the diagnosis and provide information for epidemiological investigations in patients who are suspected of having spotted fever group rickettsiosis.

Levothyroxine sodium tablets reversed Hashimoto thyroiditis-induced kidney injury, muscle injury, and lipid metabolism disorder: A case report and literature review.
Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT), a common cause of hypothyroidism, has shown an increasing incidence in recent years, particularly among women. In addition to the common complications such as lipid metabolism disorders, patients with HT may also experience some serious complications, acute kidney injury and severe muscle damage for instance. This article explored the effectiveness of levothyroxine sodium tablets (L-T4) replacement therapy in severe complications of hypothyroidism, including treatment dosage, duration of complication recovery, and whether additional treatment is needed. ⋯ Following a two-month treatment, the serum creatine kinase level decreased to within normal range. The estimated glomerular filtration rate level was restored, and the serum creatinine level was down-regulated, although slightly higher than the normal range. L-T4 partially reversed HT-induced the disorders of muscle, renal function, and lipid profile of this patient and remarkably alleviated her HT-related symptoms.

Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma in the nasopharynx: A case report and literature review.
Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma (HCCC) arising from a minor salivary gland is a rare malignant neoplasm. Most HCCC has been reported in the palate and tongue base, and only rarely in the nasopharynx. Here, we report a rare case of nasopharyngeal HCCC. ⋯ HCCC should be included in the differential diagnosis of nasopharyngeal mass. Overall, the prognosis of HCCC is positive after tumor resection and adequate management.

Ultrasound-guided percutaneous thermal ablation is a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment for benign thyroid nodules, which is now widely used in the world. Studies have found that some preoperative factors played an important role in the outcome of thermal ablation. This paper mainly reviews the various factors affecting the efficacy of ultrasound-guided percutaneous thermal ablation in the treatment of benign thyroid nodules to provide a variety of perspectives for the clinical and to promote the postoperative outcome of patients.
