The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of formula milk powder in the treatment of lactose intolerance in children, and to provide an evidence-based medicine basis for the rational use of drugs in children with lactose intolerance caused by various reasons by meta-analysis. ⋯ Low/lactose-free milk powder can improve clinical efficacy and shorten the course of treatment in infants with lactose intolerance, which can be demonstrated by further large-scale clinical studies.

A comparative cross-platform analysis of cuproptosis-related genes in human nonobstructive azoospermia: An observational study.
This study aimed to identify novel biomarkers associated with cuproptosis in human nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA). We obtained 4 NOA microarray datasets (GSE145467, GSE9210, GSE108886, and GSE45885) from the NCBI Gene Expression Omnibus database and merged them into training set. Another NOA dataset (GSE45887) was used as validation set. ⋯ Gene set variation analysis revealed a higher enrichment score of "homologous recombination" in the high expression groups of the 6 hub genes. Finally, we constructed a competing endogenous RNA network and found hsa-miR-335-3p and hsa-miR-1-3p were the most frequently related to the 6 hub genes. DBT, GCSH, NFE2L2, NLRP3, PDHA1, and SLC31A1 may serve as predictors of cuproptosis and play important roles in the NOA pathogenesis.

Association between pain intensity and depressive status in patients with hip fracture: An observational study.
Identifying depression symptoms in patients with hip fractures and studying the relationship between depression and pain intensity and pain location in hip fracture patients is of great significance for disease recovery in hip fracture patients. This cohort study analyzed 5 wave data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2020, focusing on 1222 patients with hip fractures. The study utilized the CESD-10 Depression Scale to assess depressive symptoms in hip fracture patients and conducted analyses to explore the relationship between depression symptoms, pain, and pain intensity, including binary logistic regression and examination of interaction terms between pain variables and pain intensity in key body parts. ⋯ Hip fracture pain can induce discomfort and trigger depressive symptoms, showing varied trajectories among patients. Pain intensity predicts the course of depressive symptoms, emphasizing the importance of tailored pain management strategies including medication, physical therapy, and nonpharmacological interventions. Personalized rehabilitation and mental health plans should be designed based on individual patient needs and differences.

Coronary angiography was used to assess the effect of diabetes on off-pump coronary artery bypass graft patency.
This study aimed to examine the influence of diabetes on the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) and saphenous vein (SV) graft failure for 5-year follow-up. We enrolled 202 patients who underwent isolated off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery in 2014, angiographic follow-up occurred at 5 years after surgery. Angiographic outcomes in patients with or without diabetes were analyzed. ⋯ LIMA grafts should be maximized in patients undergoing off-pump CABG surgery. Diabetes does not affect the patency of grafts CABG. Using angiography, our study proved that diabetes does not affect the patency of grafted vessels after CABG for 5 years.

Depression is a common symptom in post-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients, which can be diagnosed with post-COVID-19 depression or adjustment disorder (AD) of post-COVID-19 syndrome. Recently, there have been reports of treating post-COVID-19 syndrome with herbal interventions. However, there are no studies of AD of post-COVID-19 syndrome treated with an integrative approach. This is a CARE-compliant case report of a patient diagnosed with AD of post-COVID-19 syndrome and improved with integrative personalized medicine care (IPMC). ⋯ This study is the first case report to demonstrate improvement in AD of post-COVID-19 symptoms using IPMC. It is noteworthy that the patient in this study tapered off their antidepressant medication after the treatment with the IPMC approach. Further studies are needed to establish more qualified evidence to show the effectiveness and safety of IPMC for AD of post-COVID-19 syndrome.
