Spinal cord injury patients frequently suffer from anxiety and depression, which can seriously affect their quality of life and recovery. Acupuncture, as a traditional Chinese therapy, has been used to treat anxiety and depression for more than 2000 years. The aim is to evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of anxiety and depression in spinal cord injury patients. ⋯ Acupuncture could be used as a complementary therapy to reduce anxiety and depression in spinal cord injury patients. Further original and high-quality research is needed to verify the conclusions of this study.

Malignant skin tumors mainly include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma. There is currently observational research suggesting that changes in cathepsin (CTS) may be a factor in the development of malignant skin tumors, but no studies have yet demonstrated a causal relationship between tissue protease changes and the occurrence of malignant skin tumors. Current studies have shown that cathepsin is involved in tumor cell invasion and metastasis by regulating growth factors and cellular immune function in tumor microenvironment, decomposing extracellular matrix and basement membrane, and promoting angiogenesis. ⋯ In the multivariate analysis, it was found that Cathepsin H is a direct factor in reducing the occurrence of skin cancer and melanoma, with no apparent causal relationship to non-melanoma skin cancer. Cathepsin has a dual impact on skin cancer cells, and the expression of different cathepsins at the edge of skin tumors may indicate different developmental tendencies of skin cancer. Cathepsin may serve as effective biomarkers for predicting tumors.

MORC family CW-type zinc finger 2 (MORC2) is a newly identified chromatin remodeling protein, and has been proposed as a prognostic biomarker associated with survival in some types of human cancer, but the role of MORC2 in cervical cancer remains unknown. Here, we investigated the role of MORC2 expression in predicting the survival outcomes of locally advanced cervical cancer patients treated with cisplatin-based concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). In this retrospectively study, we detected MORC2 immunohistochemical expression on 55 biopsies from patients who underwent CCRT. ⋯ MORC2 expression was positively associated with pelvic node metastasis and locoregional failure. Higher MORC2 expression was a significant indicator of worse PFS. Our results suggest that MORC2 expression may be a prognostic indicator in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer undergoing CCRT.

Impact of dry eye disease on psychological symptoms among Chinese doctoral students studying abroad.
This study aimed to evaluate the impact of dry eye disease (DED) on depression, anxiety, and stress among Chinese doctoral students studying abroad. This is a cross-sectional study. This study enrolled 185 Chinese doctoral students pursuing education in the Philippines. ⋯ Univariate analysis of variances indicated that DED severity had a significant impact on anxiety F(3, 125) = 6.06, P = .001 and stress F(3, 125) = 3.00, P = .033. A higher influence of DED was related to stress and anxiety. Anxiety and stress levels increase with the severity of DED.

Globally, the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in 2019 has accelerated the adoption of telehealth technologies. The implementation of the Saudi Telemedicine Network (STN) and other digital health initiatives, such as the telehealth clinic (THC) at King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAAUH), exemplifies this trend in Saudi Arabia. The aim of this study was to explore the patients' experience of THC in KAAUH during the COVID-19 pandemic and their' beliefs about their readiness to replace the traditional onsite clinical visits with THC from March to September 2020. ⋯ During the COVID-19 pandemic, most patients were satisfied at KAAUH-THC in Saudi Arabia and believed that it could replace the onsite visit to a physician's clinic. The 2 main causes of the patient's belief that THC could not replace an onsite clinical visit were: First, nonadherence to appointments led to missed calls and a complete medical service. Second, the patient's perception is that a physical examination and lab investigation cannot be completed through THC.
