Review Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison between supraglottic airway devices and endotracheal tubes in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Comparisons between the efficacies of supraglottic airway devices (SGAs) and endotracheal tubes (ETTs) in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgeries have yielded conflicting results. Therefore, in this meta-analysis, we compared the clinical performance and incidence of complications between SGAs and ETT intubation in laparoscopic surgery. ⋯ The incidence of laryngospasm, cough at removal, dysphagia or dysphonia, sore throat, and hoarseness were higher in the ETT group than in the SGA group. However, the groups showed no differences in the rate of insertion success on the first attempt, insertion time, OLP, and other complications. Therefore, SGAs might be clinically more useful as effective airways in laparoscopic surgery.

Aidi injection plus radiotherapy is widely used for lung cancer in China. Can Aidi injection alleviate the toxicity and improve the clinical efficacy of radiotherapy in lung cancer? Has Aidi injection the attenuation and synergistic efficacy to radiotherapy? There is lack of strong evidence to prove it. ⋯ The evidence available indicates that Aidi injection plus radiotherapy can significantly improve the clinical efficacy and QOL of patients with lung cancer. Aidi injection can alleviate the myelosuppression, radiation pneumonitis, and radiation esophagitis of radiotherapy. It has the attenuation and synergistic efficacy to radiotherapy.

Anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody therapy for pretreated advanced nonsmall-cell lung cancer: A meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.
Anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody therapy is a promising clinical treatment for nonsmall-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, whether anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody therapy can provide added benefits for heavily pretreated patients with advanced NSCLC and whether the efficacy of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody therapy relates to the tumor PD-L1 expression level remain controversial. Thus, this meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy and safety of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody therapy for pretreated patients with advanced NSCLC. ⋯ Anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody therapy may significantly improve the outcomes for pretreated advanced NSCLC patients, with a better safety profile than docetaxel.

Washed cell salvage in surgical patients: A review and meta-analysis of prospective randomized trials under PRISMA.
Cell salvage is commonly used as part of a blood conservation strategy. However concerns among clinicians exist about the efficacy of transfusion of washed cell salvage. ⋯ Washed cell salvage is efficacious in reducing the need for allogeneic RBC transfusion and risk of infection in surgery.

Review Meta Analysis
Systematic review and meta-analysis of sutures coated with triclosan for the prevention of surgical site infection after elective colorectal surgery according to the PRISMA statement.
Several randomized clinical trials (RCTs) conducted to evaluate the effect of triclosan-coated suture on surgical site infection (SSI) yield to controversial results. The primary purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to analyze the available RCTs, comparing the effect of triclosan-coated suture with uncoated suture on the incidence of SSI after elective colorectal operations. As secondary endpoint of the analysis, we considered length of hospital stay after surgery. ⋯ Our findings failed to demonstrate a significant protective effect of triclosan-coated sutures on the occurrence of SSI after elective colorectal resections. Further large RCTs are needed before introducing this technology into clinical practice.
