Small-cell undifferentiated carcinoma (SmCC), as an aggressive malignancy, are most commonly arising in lung. Extrapulmonary SmCC is rare. It was reported that SmCC accounts for only 0.1% to 0.2% of colorectal cancers. Currently, no standard treatment regimen is recommended. Here, we presented a case of SmCC from rectum. The patient achieved pathological complete response (pCR) after surgery, which makes us feel gratified, and we are also eager to share this successful case with more peers to provide more references for clinical decision-making. ⋯ This is the first to be reported in a rectal SmCC patient who achieved pCR after nCRT combined with ICIs, which may provide supporting data for using this treatment option for rectal SmCC.

Congenital factor V deficiency is classified as a rare bleeding disorder that is expressed in an autosomal recessive manner and generally occurs in 1 in a million people. This disorder is accompanied by a variety of clinical manifestations, which can easily lead to misdiagnosis. This is the first report to identify the factor V gene variant c.2439delC (p.I814Lfs*23) in exon 13. ⋯ This case report presents a rare occurrence of congenital factor V deficiency resulting in a left iliac fossa hematoma mistaken for an abscess, which resulted in unnecessary antibiotic therapy and surgery. This case emphasizes that coagulation factor deficiency should be highly suspected for joint mass combined with coagulation dysfunction.

Central retinal artery occlusion following surgery for thyroid eye disease: A case report.
Thyroid eye disease (TED) is the most common orbital disorder in adults and significantly affects patient health. Orbital decompression surgery is an important treatment option. Central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) after orbital medial wall decompression is rare in patients with TED. Following improved accessibility to medical services, the phenomenon of polypharmacy in elderly patients with comorbidity has been increasing globally. Polypharmacy patients are prone to drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and even the risk of death etc. Therefore, there is an urgent need to fully understand the current status and characteristics of drug use in elderly patients with chronic diseases, focusing on polypharmacy factors to ensure that medications for elderly patients are effective and safe. ⋯ The problem of irrational use of drugs in elderly patients with chronic diseases was relatively prominent, especially the use of traditional Chinese medicines. The medication situation in elderly patients with chronic diseases was not optimistic, and the problem of polypharmacy was relatively prominent. Further large-scale studies are needed to provide a certain reference for improving the current status of drug use in elderly patients.

Factors associated with severity and anatomical distribution of diabetic foot ulcer in a tertiary care hospital in Bangladesh: A cross-sectional study.
Diabetic foot ulcers are characterized by disturbances in the epidermis and/or a portion of the dermis in patients with the disease. With over a million amputations performed annually, it has also emerged as one of the primary causes of lower limb amputation globally. To better understand the severity and anatomical distribution of ulcerated areas in patients with type II diabetes mellitus, this study aimed to identify the factors associated with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). ⋯ The majority of respondents (57.94%) had a right foot ulcer, of which 94.50% had severe ulcers. Almost all ulcers were severe (86.14%) and measured <5 cm in diameter (69.71%). The results highlight the tremendous burden of DFUs, which can have serious consequences and substantial mental and economic effects on patients' healthcare systems.
