To investigate the feasibility of reconstructing a virtual endoscopy from MR imaging data sets of the upper urinary tract. ⋯ A virtual endoscopy of the upper urinary tract can be successfully reconstructed using the data sets of high-resolution 3D MR urography sequences.

In this animal study, density ranges for CT-based quantification of ventilated lung area were determined. Healthy lungs and ARDS lungs were compared during artificial respiration. ⋯ Dynamic multiscan CT acquisitions are a useful method to determine changes of ventilated lung area during a respiratory cycle. Different HU-ranges are required to access volume changes in healthy lungs and in ARDS lungs.

[The MRT of focal liver lesions: the value of gadolinium-enhanced dynamic studies of the whole organ with a fast 3D-turbo-gradient echo sequence].
To determine the value of a dynamic Gd-enhanced ultrafast T1-weighted 3D-turbo-gradient-echo sequence (3D-TFE) in the detection and characterization of focal liver lesions. ⋯ On dynamic 3D-TFE images more lesions could be depicted than on conventional T1-weighted SE and T1-weighted FFE images. Visualization of the dynamic enhancement pattern provided additional information for tumor characterization in 61% of the detected lesions on the 3D-TFE images.

The aim of this study is to introduce a fast, T2 weighted true FISP keyhole sequence implemented on an open C arm low field magnetic resonance (MR) scanner for interventional procedure guidance. ⋯ The use of the described keyhole sequence enabled a fluoroscopy-like guidance of interventional devices in an open, low-field system.

To investigate if the assessment of spinal fracture stability according to the Magerl classification permits a better therapy decision than using the Denis 3-column model. ⋯ The Magerl classification enables a more exact definition of stable and unstable spinal fractures.
