Follow-up of extracranial vertebral artery stents with Doppler sonography.
The objective of our study was to determine the Doppler sonography findings suggestive of restenosis in the follow-up of patients treated by stent placement in the extracranial vertebral artery. ⋯ Follow-up of vertebral artery stents with Doppler sonography may be performed by direct insonation of the stent or by indirect measurements from the V2 segment (the part of the vertebral artery that courses within the intervertebral foramina). The V2 segment Doppler sonography measurements may guide future examinations and provide essential information regarding the proximally deployed stent.

Clinical TrialMDCT of the elbow in pediatric patients with posttraumatic elbow effusions.
The purpose of this study was to determine the performance characteristics of MDCT in the detection of fractures in children with posttraumatic elbow effusions and to assess the effect of MDCT findings on clinical management. ⋯ MDCT is a sensitive means of evaluating for radiographically occult fractures in children with posttraumatic elbow effusions. It has a high negative predictive value and a high level of interobserver agreement. MDCT findings may lead to alteration of treatment of children with nondisplaced lateral condylar and radial head fractures.

Clinical TrialOptimal TE for SPIO-enhanced gradient-recalled echo MRI for the detection of focal hepatic lesions.
The objective of our study was to determine the optimal TE for superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO)-enhanced gradient-recalled echo (GRE) MRI for the detection of focal hepatic lesions. ⋯ For ferucarbotran-enhanced MRI, lesion SDNR was highest on images obtained using a TE of 13.5 milliseconds, but the sensitivity and lesion conspicuity were comparable at TEs of 9 and 18 milliseconds. The SDNR of liver lesions varied according to the lesion's potential capability of taking up SPIO agents.
