The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sensitivities and specificities of four single-slab 3D MRI sequences in the detection of cranial metastases: double inversion recovery (IR), T2 FLAIR, contrast-enhanced T2 FLAIR, and contrast-enhanced IR-prepared fast spoiled gradient-echo (FSPGR) sequences. ⋯ Contrast-enhanced T2 FLAIR is the most sensitive sequence of the four MR sequences evaluated for the detection of cranial metastases despite its delay time after contrast enhancement.

Evaluation of the diagnostic performance of tomosynthesis in fractures of the wrist.
The purpose of our study was to define the diagnostic value of tomosynthesis compared with standard radiography and CT in wrist injuries. ⋯ The diagnostic value of tomosynthesis is superior to that of standard radiography but inferior to that of CT.

The femoral nerve is subject to a variety of diseases that may affect the nerve anywhere from the nerve roots to the distal branches. High-resolution 3-T MR neurography (MRN) is being increasingly used for peripheral nerve evaluation because it complements information gained from electrodiagnostic testing. ⋯ There are scattered case reports describing femoral nerve diseases using MRI. This article comprehensively reviews different pathologic abnormalities involving the femoral nerve and illustrates their MRN features with case examples.

Comparative StudyDiffusion-weighted MRI versus 18F-FDG PET/CT: performance as predictors of tumor treatment response and patient survival in patients with non-small cell lung cancer receiving chemoradiotherapy.
The purpose of this study was to compare the predictive capabilities of diffusion-weighted MRI (DWI) and 18F-FDG PET/CT for tumor response to therapy and survival in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving chemoradiotherapy. ⋯ DWI may have better potential than FDG PET/CT for prediction of tumor response to therapy in NSCLC patients before chemoradiotherapy.
