Artificial Intelligence for Breast MRI in 2008-2018: A Systematic Mapping Review.
The purpose of this study is to review literature from the past decade on applications of artificial intelligence (AI) to breast MRI. ⋯ Interest in the application of advanced AI methods to breast MRI is growing worldwide. Although this growth is encouraging, the current performance of AI applications in breast MRI means that such applications are still far from being incorporated into clinical practice.

Comparative StudyComparison of T2-Weighted Imaging, DWI, and Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI for Calculation of Prostate Cancer Index Lesion Volume: Correlation With Whole-Mount Pathology.
The objective of our study was to investigate the comparative effectiveness of different MRI sequences for the estimation of index lesion volume in patients with prostate cancer (PCa) compared with ground truth volume measured on whole-mount pathology. ⋯ DCE-MRI performed better than T2-weighted imaging and DWI for estimation of index PCa volume and therefore can be preferred over these other two sequences for volume estimation.

Ischemic Lesions in Acute and Subacute Perimesencephalic Subarachnoid Hemorrhage.
Perimesencephalic hemorrhage (PMH) is a subtype of nonaneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). In patients with aneurysmal SAH, the occurrence of acute ischemic lesions is associated with severity and poor outcome. We investigated the frequency of ischemic lesions on DWI in patients with PMH and compared it with the frequency of ischemic lesions in patients with aneurysmal SAH. ⋯ Early ischemic lesions appeared on DWI both in patients with PMH and in patients with aneurysmal SAH. The number of lesions increased during the time window for vasospasm, mainly in patients with aneurysmal SAH. Further studies are required to better understand the pathophysiologic mechanisms behind early ischemia in patients with PMH and their impact on prognosis.

The doctor-patient relationship has been evolving from benevolent paternalism to a more patient-centered relationship in the modern era. Although artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to improve nearly every aspect of health care, many physicians are skeptical about integrating AI into their current medical practice. The purpose of this article is to explore what AI means for the doctor-patient relationship and for breast imaging radiologists. ⋯ The promise of AI is its potential to release physicians from tasks that are better performed by automation. AI may enhance our diagnostic accuracy to the point that we are able to refocus on the art of the doctor-patient relationship.

ReviewArtificial Intelligence in Breast Imaging: Potentials and Limitations.
The purpose of this article is to discuss potential applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in breast imaging and limitations that may slow or prevent its adoption. ⋯ The algorithms of AI for workflow improvement and outcome analyses are advancing. Using imaging data of high quality and quantity, AI can support breast imagers in diagnosis and patient management, but AI cannot yet be relied on or be responsible for physicians' decisions that may affect survival. Education in AI is urgently needed for physicians.
