Differentiation of Kawasaki Disease From Other Causes of Fever and Cervical Lymphadenopathy: A Diagnostic Scoring System Using Contrast-Enhanced CT.
The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristic findings of contrast-enhanced CT (CECT) of the neck in patients with Kawasaki disease (KD) and to develop a diagnostic scoring system to facilitate the diagnosis of KD versus other causes of fever and cervical lymphadenopathy. ⋯ The proposed diagnostic scoring system was useful in differentiating between patients with and without KD.

Meta AnalysisDiagnostic Outcome of Image-Guided Percutaneous Core Needle Biopsy of Sclerotic Bone Lesions: A Meta-Analysis.
This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the diagnostic outcome (diagnostic yield and accuracy) of image-guided percutaneous core needle biopsy (CNB) of sclerotic bone lesions. ⋯ In conclusion, we determined that image-guided percutaneous CNB of sclerotic bone lesions is an accurate diagnostic technique with good diagnostic yield, particularly when the battery-powered bone biopsy system is used.

Comparative StudyMultiparametric CT for Noninvasive Staging of Hepatitis C Virus-Related Liver Fibrosis: Correlation With the Histopathologic Fibrosis Score.
The objective was to develop a multiparametric CT algorithm to stage liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. ⋯ Multiparametric CT assessment of HCV-related liver fibrosis further improves performance over the performance of individual parameters. An abbreviated panel of LSN score and FIB-4 score approached the diagnostic performance of more exhaustive panels. Results of the abbreviated panel compare favorably with elastography, but this approach has the advantage of retrospective assessment using preexisting data without planning.

Factors Predicting Positive Culture in CT-Guided Bone Biopsy Performed for Suspected Osteomyelitis.
The goal of this study was to identify clinical factors and radiographic characteristics associated with positive culture results from bone biopsy in cases of suspected osteomyelitis. ⋯ The rate of positive culture from image-guided core biopsy of suspected osteomyelitis is low. In this study, lower CT attenuation values were associated with a significantly higher rate of positive culture. An attenuation value of 150 HU may serve as a threshold above which biopsy would be expected to have lower utility for obtaining specific microbial culture data.
