Utility of MRI after inconclusive ultrasound in pediatric patients with suspected appendicitis: retrospective review of 60 consecutive patients.
The purpose of this study is to examine the utility of appendix MRI in evaluation of pediatric patients with right lower quadrant pain and inconclusive appendix sonography findings. ⋯ Our study shows that MRI has a sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 96% for appendicitis in pediatric patients after inconclusive appendix sonography. We think that MRI may supplant CT as the secondary modality to follow inconclusive appendix sonography.

Randomized Controlled TrialIntraarticular local anesthesia: can it reduce pain related to MR or CT arthrography of the shoulder?
The objective of this study was to prospectively evaluate whether intraarticular anesthesia can reduce pain after MR or CT arthrography of the shoulder. ⋯ Intraarticular local anesthesia did not reduce arthrography-related pain.

Historical ArticleVariability in brain treatment during mummification of royal Egyptians dated to the 18th-20th dynasties: MDCT findings correlated with the archaeologic literature.
The objective of our study was to use MDCT to study brain treatment and removal (excerebration) as part of mummification of royal Egyptian mummies dated to the 18th to early 20th Dynasties and to correlate the imaging findings with the archaeologic literature. ⋯ MDCT shows variations in brain treatment during mummification of royal Egyptian mummies (18th-20th Dynasties). This study sets a template for future CT studies of the heads of ancient Egyptian mummies and focuses on the key elements of cranial mummification in this ancient era.
