Asthma is a prevalent chronic obstructive disease of the airways. ⋯ In conclusion, IL-17F gene 7488 T > C polymorphism was found to be associated with asthma in the Turkish population. The IL-17 gene should be further investigated as a potential candidate gene in predicting asthma susceptibility and in the treatment of asthma.

The relationship between central sensitization and disease activity, quality of life, and sleep quality among patients with axial spondyloarthritis.
Central sensitization (CS) has been held responsible in previous studies for persistent pain and persistently high disease activity in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA). Sleep disturbance is also regarded as an important problem for patients with axSpA. ⋯ Clinical CS is common among axSpA patients. CS adversely affects disease activity, pain, sleep quality, and QoL of axSpA patients. CS should be considered when planning axSpA treatment.

Hyponatremia is the most common electrolyte disorder and it has been associated with increased mortality. ⋯ We conclude that hyponatremia is a predictive marker for a bad clinical course, therefore patients with this electrolyte disorder should be carefully monitored.

The vast majority of breast cancers are diagnosed via image-guided procedures yet despite significant advances, imaging does not identify all breast malignancies. Clinically suspicious breast lesions with normal breast imaging remain a cause for concern. The aim of this study is to determine the diagnostic value of clinical core and cutaneous punch biopsies in the diagnosis of breast malignancy in clinically suspicious lesions with normal breast imaging. ⋯ Clinical core and cutaneous punch biopsies remain a valuable tool in the diagnosis of breast cancer particularly in the management of clinically suspicious radiographically occult malignancies.

To evaluate the frequency, characteristics, and persistence of headache in coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) patients who are hospitalised and to determine if there is a link between headache and smell and/or taste dysfunction. ⋯ In this prospective study in COVID-19 patients presenting with headache upon admission, a correlation between persistent headache 3 months after discharge and persistent smell/taste dysfunction was found that could point to common underlying pathophysiology.
